Ongoing: Project of Fisioterapic Room

Rotaract West LA has taken on Project of Fisioterapic Room as its international project for Rotary year 2010-2011. For this project, RWLA plans to raise the funds needed to build a Physical Therapy room for APAE — an organization that houses and cares for approximately 200 low-income children with physical and neurological disabilities. The room will help these children develop the skills, muscles, and control to accomplish (what we find to be) simple every day tasks such as eating cereal and brushing your teeth.

APAE is located in Pinhais, Brazil. The room will cost $17,308 to build. Through partnerships with the Rotary Clubs of Culver City, Century City, and Pinhais, and with a recently approved Matching Grant through Rotary International, this figure is a reachable goal for our club.

We are excited to be given the opportunity to make such an impact for 200 children in Pinhais, and we hope you will be able to support our efforts. Check back often for updates on RWLA-hosted fundraisers for this project.
